In America today we are beholden to oil. There’s a long history behind that dependency, but that dependency is sapping America’s energy funneling our dollars and energy to feed the countries that have the oil. America has very little of its own oil, America imports over 70% of the oil it uses, and the oil is primarily held in unfriendly countries. The massive importation of oil is a huge risk to America, among which are that these unfriendly countries could use this dependency to control America for the furtherance of their interests.
